England vs Australia Glenn Maxwell's boundary catch

England vs Australia Glenn Maxwell's boundary catch

Australia though lost but they played like champions today They batted well and put a competitive total when they were batting. Their bowling was not well though as their fast bowlers were taken for runs. Those yorkers were missed it the death overs. Cummins was excellent as he picked 4 wickets while Marsh picked up two as well. Maxwell and Wade pulled of some terrific catches but that wasn't in their favour today. They should consider another bad day at the office but now they have to pull their socks in the winner-takes-it-all match.

The series is poised 2-2 which means we are going to witness a decider next. Leeds is a good ground to chase and England is the second team after Sri Lanka to chase a target of 300 runs in an ODI. A good all-round display from both the sides but it's England who have emerged out victorious today. They bowled well early on and when it came to batting, Roy and Taylor stringed a 72 runs partnership which was later anchored by the skipper, Morgan who once again showed his sublime form. Once he sent back, the job was already done though but not to forget Stokes gave him a good company and then the lower order saw them coming home.

Eoin Morgan, Man of the Match - It's a significant vicotry for us. At the half way stage we were confident of chasing this down. The contributions and partnerships were crucial. It's always good the guys down the order making their experience count. We kept Austrlaia 30-3, Willey took advantage of the conditions and provided us with the start. Death bolwing is still the area which is of concern for us, hopefully we find a solution to it. We are full of confidence and hopefully we do well. Old Trafford will be a different pitch and we have already registered a win under our belts there. Hope we do well, cheers!

Steven Smith - Very disappointing. Our middle order played well. Maxwell and Bailey played brilliantly. Good finish from Hastings and Wade. We couldn't bowl in the right areas and that certainly cost us. I think if we had more wickets, we could have scored 320 plus. It was pretty similar to Lord's wicket and that's why I opted to bat as I thought it would work for us today as well. I think it's a final now, both the team will be up for the challenge. We have to play well and more importantly play spinners well. We want to win every series we play and hopefully we play well in the final.
